Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to Salem Township of Washtenaw County.  Founded as a farming community centered around a few small villages,  their stores, mills, blacksmiths, churches and schools.

The Township has retained its rural character and some of that farming heritage which its residents cherish.

Salem Township welcomes you to visit one of our many lovely Preserved properties.

Salem Township Farm Preserve is located at the southwest corner of Salem Road and Five Mile Road.  The 235 acres of rolling landscapes and farmland have numerous marked pathways that can be enjoyed from dawn to dusk.

The Anthony & Rose Shatter Family Preserve is located at the southwest corner of Curtis Road and Brookville Road.  The 25 acre preserve is a mature woodland with several wetland complexes with several existing trails. 

The Creekshead Nature Preserve is located on Curtis 1/2 mile south of Five Mile on the west side of Curtis Rd.  This complex is 27 acres of button bush swamps and ephemeral wildflowers.
