In a unanimous vote, the Salem Township Board of Trustees declared a vacancy in the office of Trustee as of October 1st, 2002.
The Salem Township Board approved the following procedure to fill the vacancy in office.
The township will accept resumes until October 25, 2002. Notices will be placed in the South Lyon Herald and other local newspapers.
The Township Board will compile written questions for each applicant to answer. Questions will be mailed to applicants on October 25, 2002 and are due back by November 4, 2002
The Township Board will hold two (2) town hall meetings with written questions accepted from the audience and follow-up questions from the board. The meetings will be held on October 29, 2002 and November 7, 2002 both at 7:30pm at the township hall.
The Township Board will attempt to select a candidate at their regular township meeting on November 12, 2002 at 7:30pm.
