Salem Township hosts Washtenaw County Public Health Immunization Clinic

Registered nurses will be at the Township Hall, 9600 Six Mile Road, to provide influenza vaccine to those people at risk for getting serious case of influenza or influenza complications and people in close contact with them.

An annual flue shot it recommended for these groups:

  • Everyone 50 years of age or older
  • Residents of long term care facilities housing people with chronic conditions.
  • Anyone who has a serious long-term health problem.
  • Anyone whose immune system is weakened.
  • Anyone 6 months to 18 years on long-term aspirin treatment.
  • Women who will be past the 3rd month of pregnancy during the influenza season.

    Those people who have a serious allergic reaction to eggs or to a previous dose of influenza vaccine may want to discuss obtaining the vaccine beforehand with their doctors. The Public Health Nurses will answer other immunization questions at the Influenza Clinic. As in the past, donations will be accepted from those obtaining the vaccines.
