 The Salem Township Fire Department hosted the Fire Safety house for two days at Salem Elementary. Each student was offered a chance to complete the exercise which covered basic fire safety and evacuation procedures.

 Salem mourns the sudden passing of 42-year old firefighter Joel Scott Givens. Friendship didn’t stop at the township border. Individuals and fire departments from all the nearby counties, and even out of state will honor Givens at today’s funeral services.

 For the past several years the Rouge 'RAP' Advisory Council has been working on a State mandated revision of the Remedial Action Plan, or RAP, for the Rouge River. Hamlet Area Committee Created
