Johnson Controls project to be unveiled Tuesday

Johnson Controls Inc., a $17 billion global company which headquarters its automotive division in Plymouth, is making a pitch to Salem Township for a project that has not yet been made public.

Johnson Controls and local officials are tight-lipped about specifics, opting for the formal unveiling at Tuesday's board meeting, 7:30 p.m. at township hall, 9600 Six Mile Road.

Johnson Controls Inc. designs and manufactures automotive interiors including seating, electronics and components. It employs 77,000 people globally in its automotive division, and 10,000 in Michigan alone, Dawson said.
